“Brig Muhammad Zahir Khan brings over three decades of distinguished leadership, strategic planning, and organizational management experience spanning military command and corporate industry.

Commissioned into the Pakistan Army in April 1977, Brig Khan served with distinction for more than 32 years, retiring in July 2009. Over the course of his military career, he held a wide range of command, staff, and instructional appointments, including command of an artillery regiment and formation, an overseas deputation to Saudi Arabia, and service as Directing Staff at the Command & Staff College. He also served as Colonel Staff of an infantry division and as Director of the Project Management Division at the C4I Directorate, General Headquarters. In recognition of his meritorious service, he was awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military), one of Pakistan’s highest military honors.

Brig Khan holds an MSc in War Studies and an MSc in Defence and Strategic Studies from the National Defence University, and completed a certification in German language interpretership from the National University of Modern Languages (NUML). His professional military education also includes the National Defence Course, the Armed Forces War Course, the Field Artillery Officers Advanced Course (United States), and a course in Military Law.

Following his military career, Brig Khan transitioned into the corporate sector, serving as Resident Manager (Plant) at Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim Limited (FFBL) from 2010 to 2014. In this role, he gained rich, hands-on experience managing the operations and business processes of a large-scale fertilizer plant, deepening his understanding of corporate governance and industrial management.

A widely travelled individual with a global perspective shaped by both his military and corporate careers, Brig Khan is proficient in common IT and enterprise applications, including SAP and Lotus Notes. He is passionate about mentorship, leadership development, and strategic planning, and remains committed to contributing his extensive experience to academic and institutional growth through active engagement with students and the broader university community.”
